The Independent does a very interesting article about the rise of Swedish artists making it worldwide. They mention ABBA, The Cardigans, and some of the new up and coming artists such Lykke Li, The Knife, and Peter Björn and John.

– Nej! Det hoppas jag inte de gör. Vi har inga konkreta planer, men det har vi nästan aldrig när vi avslutat skiva och nu blir det bara lite längre uppehåll eftersom jag gör det här.
Q: Should the fans stop hoping for the Cardigans to get back together?
A:No! I hope they’re not. We don’t have any concrete plans, but we never really have after we’re done with an album and it’s just been a little longer break because I’m out with A Camp.

The Hultsfred Festival is a festival in Sweden in the city of Hultsfred. Here’s a clip from 1994 of Nina Persson at that festival. I’m a sucker for old school Cardigans clips.

Nina Persson and A Camps showed up to celebrate Midsommer (Mid summer) at Skansen. Skansen is a gigantic park in the middle of Stockholm that heralds back to the old times of Sweden. It’s part history of Sweden and part zoo.
