This is some of the best news to come in a long time. Dagens Nyheter is reporting that the Cardigans are getting back together to play at the Hultsfred Festival next summer!

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to live with Nina and Nathan – wonder no more. They are selling their apartment in Malmö, Sweden and an enterprising person went in and took some pictures of it.
The Cardigans had a career before and after “Lovefool”, but for many they will be forever known for this song’s association with the soundtrack to Baz Luhrman’s wildly tacky update of Romeo and Juliet. It’s a happy accident, then, that “Lovefool” happens to be one of their best. The Cardigans took lounge-pop and paired it with disturbingly sour sentiments– and that was mostly it. It was a chemistry experiment that succeeded about half the time, and on “Lovefool”, everything came together. The song’s tone never settles, dipping and wavering between major and minor keys almost every four bars. Even the sunny explosion of the chorus hits a chilly last note. It’s an ideal musical expression of Nina Persson’s probing, uncertain lyrics, which chart a queasy line between abject pleading and manipulation. –Jayson Greene
