Okay, this is WAY off the Cardigans topics but it has to be brought up. There are tons of kebab (gyro) shops in Sweden. Most of them are pretty much the same thing. There is however one that stands out. It’s Hageby Grillen (Hageby Grill) in Norrköping.
The best part about their kebabs is that it’s a pizza shop as well. That means the kebab bread is made from scratch, not one of the generic pita bread things. Second, you can get the kebab rulle (gyro roll) or the massive jätte kebab rulle (giant gyro roll). The jätte kebab rulle is massive, the thing hangs off the plate on both sides. With the tomato sauce and onions, it’s an absolute delight.
If you’re going to visit Sweden, take the two hour detour down to Norrköping and see it for yourself.
